You can choose non spicy chicken too! Chicken is yummy! Mustard is yummy! Fries are yummy! It's not a good location so I think they're not too busy. But a great spot to eat!

First time going to any Dave's hot chicken. I was not expecting much but my kids were dying to check it out. The spot is huge. Staff were friendly & the chicken tenders were so moist! Will definitely be returning when we are near.

Chicken was great, not too sure what the white bread was about but sauce and sliders were good. Hot was decently hot. The employees were really nice. We were helped by Jeff who made our first time very welcoming and memorable.

Quality you can taste!! Chicken was fresh and I really enjoyed the cheese dip!!! However I would suggest NO SLAW on the slider. It was way too water-downed and my buns got all mushy. Other than that it was yummy!!

Didn't know what to expect since I'm not a spice lover but I have to shout to anyone who reads this; you must visit Dave's Hot Chicken. The vibe of the establishment is clean, bright, hip and organized. Jeff greeted us and was very pleasant and friendly. We both ordered #4. Chicken slider with crinkle fries. Omg. Freshly prepared, piping hot chicken, freshly prepped soft yummy bun, pickles with girth and a bit of kale slaw to round out the slider. I opted to add honey along with the Dave's sauce. Best chicken slider ever. EVER! Chicken is flavorful, tender and meaty but not dry, which was what I was dreading. Absolutely delicious. The work put in to develop this sandwich is appreciated with every bite. The fries were also perfect. Golden, not over fried. Can't wait to return. Highly recommend to anyone who loves good quality food, the flavors will impress you. Trust me!

I recently visited the much-hyped Dave's Hot chicken for my first time and thought I would leave an initial review. I ordered the Dave's #2 with one hot slider and one medium served with French fries and no pickles. I was immediately impressed by the look of the chicken and knew that it was going to a a delight to bite into. I was impressed by the crispy crunch of the fried chicken batter and the chicken was juicy and succulent. Nice work on the chicken! The sliders are served with kale slaw and I was really looking forward to the pairing of crispy fried chicken with the crunch of the slaw. Sadly, though, there was hardly any slaw on my sliders and what was there was mostly purple cabbage with very little kale - a major disappointment. The fries were kind of droopy and missed the mark for me also. I went through the drive through so I can't comment on the ambience or anything about the inside of the establishment but the drive through service was exceptional and the guy who helped me was super nice and greeted me with a sincere smile. I will definitely be back and hope that next time I get a little more slaw on my slider! Also, I loved both the medium and the hot spice levels but next time I'm going with two hot sliders - the heat is really nice and does not overpower the senses (well mine at least) and it does not distract from the flavor of the chicken. Is it worth the hype? Well, this place is probably a little overhyped but I highly recommend giving Dave's Hot Chicken a try.

Oh. My. GAWD. I think this is my new favorite fast food chain. I'd been curious about Dave's Hot Chicken for a while now. I drive by the one in Citrus Heights all the time, but wanted to wait until I got the chance to try the Folsom spot, since it has slightly higher Yelp ratings. Prior to stopping by for dinner last week, I was not familiar with the concept behind the chicken. After having my entire life changed by the flavor, I had to Google it, obviously. I found it interesting to learn that Dave's Hot Chicken started off as a food cart in LA, and expanded into a chain with several brick and mortar locations within just a few years. One of the main chefs was a former employee of The French Laundry, and used some of the techniques he learned working there to create his phenomenal recipes. Dave's Hot Chicken drew attention from several celebrity investors in its early days, including Drake, Maria Shriver, and Samuel L. Jackson. Apparently, these three have great taste in hot chicken, because, like I said, it's life changing. Okay, so, I'm certainly no hot chicken expert. I've never been to Tennessee, or Louisiana, or wherever hot chicken even comes from (the closest I've traveled is Arizona). The only hot chicken I've ever tried before this probably came from Popeye's. But, I instantly fell in love. I'm hooked. For life. Apparently, every single piece of chicken is marinated for hours before frying, which is how the exceptional flavor sinks so deeply into each and every layer of flesh. The texture could not have been more perfect. It was the texture of dreams. Tender. Juicy. Crispy. Crunchy. Heaven. The outer breading and seasoning were my favorite part. I had ordered the combo with 1 slider and 1 tender, with one Extra Hot, and one Reaper. The Reaper was obviously spicier, but both had unbeatable flavor. The slider was served on a potato bun with pickles and Dave's sauce (which tastes suspiciously similar to McDonald's Secret Sauce imo), while the tender was served on a slice of white bread, with Dave's sauce and pickles on the side. I personally loved the potato bun, but, if you're looking for a better value, I guess the white bread is okay. I'm not a big fan of French fries, so I asked to sub mac and cheese, and also asked to add cheese to my slider. My order came out with fries, and without cheese. I noticed the fries right away, so that was corrected, but, unfortunately, I didn't realize that I'd been shorted one slice of cheese until approximately 3:06a.m. (I hate how that happens.) But, whatever. It was amazing. It was so good, I don't even care that they got my order wrong, and then still got it wrong even after I pointed out that it was wrong. I mean, the mac and cheese was just meh. But the chicken... In order to order the Reaper, I had to sign a waiver. "Is it really that hot?" I asked. "People have cried in here," replied the cashier. It was the hottest chicken I have ever personally tried in any restaurant. It was so hot that I had to eat the Reaper tender slowly, with bites of Extra Hot slider and Mac and Cheese and sips of water in between. Even though I took it slowly, I was still not entirely able to conquer the Reaper in one sitting. I ended up taking about half of it home, where I finished it later that night. I'm glad I tried the Reaper, because I always love trying new things, but I don't think I would order it again. Next time (and there will definitely be a next time), I think I'll order one Hot, and one Medium. I seriously cannot wait to eat here again!

Jackson was working the night we wandered into Dave's. Jackson was the highlight of our visit. He greeted us warmly, asked if it was our first time there, gave us all the advice was needed to place our first order. Jackson smiled and was very personable. He even went above and beyond by bringing the food to our table. Jackson stayed busy while we were there, cleaning tables and making sure the place was in perfect condition for the guests that constantly flowed through the place. On top of the stellar service Jackson had already provided, he stopped by our table again to ask if we needed anything. We were delighted as he brought us more Dave's sauce and to-go containers. As for the food, I enjoyed it, the food was fresh, hot and tasty. The chicken was tender and moist. The fries were flavorful. I do question the costs of the chicken, its about $13 for two strips of chicken, 2 pieces of plain white bread and some fries. The strips are a decent size but in my opinion not worth $13. I can live without going back to Dave's.
